ReSPECT ‘Train the Trainer’ session for Norfolk & Waveney care providers

On the afternoon of Thursday 26th March (following the N&SCS; Care Provider meeting) we are hosting a free, 2-hour, level 2, ReSPECT ‘Train the Trainer’ session at The Willow Centre, Cringleford. Attendees can then cascade the relevant knowledge to your staff.

ReSPECT stands for Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment. ReSPECT is a process where a person and their healthcare team talk together and work out a personalised plan for potential future emergency treatment. It also includes medical recommendations from the person’s healthcare professional and information about cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as other serious medical treatments. It includes decisions about resuscitation and has a section which will replace the current DNAPCR form. ReSPECT is going to be used in Norfolk and Waveney from March 2020.  E-learning and general awareness training resources have been developed to help everyone understand the use of ReSPECT.

  • Level 1 – general awareness sessions for health and social care staff, voluntary workers and the public
  • Level 2 – more in depth learning for those who will read the ReSPECT document and make decisions based on the ReSPECT plan. E.g. manager, deputy manager, trainers, team leads, clinical leads, registered nurses, seniors.
  • Level 3 – advanced learning for those who will be responsible for writing the ReSPECT plan.
